2022 Turkey Tour Rally - Rally Master Letter

Thank you to all those that either participated in, or assisted with producing the 2022 Turkey Tour Rally. This was the 72nd Turkey Tour and we have been lucky enough to have planned the last 16 of them. This one was planned a bit different as we started a bit late, and our traditional “week before Thanksgiving” slipped. The benefit is that we enjoyed Christmas lights on our evening pre-run as did all the participants on rally night. Down side is that we had some reports back of a holiday party or two going on on along the route. Overall, the rally was a great success, a smallish turnout at the start with 16 cars, but all reported back to Amore to talk about the route, the lights, and the amazing houses that we passed. If you looked at the map, the route was two loops around Pound Ridge about 20 miles each, plus the transit distance to and from for a total of 67.6 miles. The actual time should have been 2 hours 42 minutes and 39 seconds. Unlike most of our other rallies, several cars arrived at the checkpoint early. There weren’t any issues with the instructions, thankfully. Everyone managed to stay on route, we posted 45 signs, 5 were passed twice, so 50 signs were scored and 2 teams found them all, 4 other teams missed only 1 sign. Awesome job!

Special thanks go out to Debbi and Gary for helping with registration, Ken for picking up signs with me the day after, GJ for hanging out with us at the finish and welcoming teams back to Amore, and to Barbara for helping produce the rally and pre-running the route.

We are hoping to get back to running 3 rallies next year, we have enlisted an additional rallymaster, who has produced rallies for us in the past… looking forward to next year. Stay safe, healthy and happy holidays.
